Havana, April 1 (ACN) Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel and Laos’ General Attorney Xaysana Khotphuthone stressed in Havana the historic relations between the political parties, governments and peoples of their two countries.
The Laotian official conveyed Diaz-Canel greetings from his country’s President and leader of Laos People’s Revolutionary Party Thongloun Sisoulith, according to the Cuban Presidency.
Diaz-Canel said that Sisoulith’s visit here ratifies the strong links between the two countries, which were forged by the historic leaders Fidel Castro and Kaysone Phomvihane.
He recalled the support given by Cuba to the Laotian people’s struggles and he thanked the Southeastern nation’s stance against the US economic, commercial and financial blockade of the island nation and its relisting by Washington as a state sponsor of terrorism.
The Cuban head of state underscored the exchange between both general attorneys’ offices about facing global issues and international crime.
The Laotian visitor thanked Diaz-Canel for the meeting and stressed the historic bonds uniting the two nations, the two political organizations and the two governments and attorneys’ offices.
