ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – Tuesday is National Voter Registration Day, and Bernalillo County celebrated by registering people to vote.
The County Clerk’s Office hosted a “Be the Vote” registration drive. This was the first year for the drive, but officials hope it becomes an annual event.
Officials say their goal was to provide an easy way for people to register either for the first time or to change registration information.
“It’s one of the greatest privileges we have as an American is the right to vote, so you need to get out and practice your right and register to vote,” Bernalillo County Clerk Linda Stove said.
Unfortunately, the deadline to register to vote for the upcoming Municipal Election has already passed, but people who registered Wednesday can vote in the next election.
