A Veterans Day program was held at the Adrian High School gym honoring area veterans on Friday, November 10th. There were performances by the choir and band members, and color guards from Adrian and Lismore’s American Legion. Several Lismore veterans were treated to a luxury ride in a rented HUMMER limousine.  The limousine was compliments of Adrian High School’s National Honor Society members and area businesses.  Those veterans riding in style were: Veryl Stoffel, Darwin Veld, Earl Hebig, Bob LeBrun, Brent Feikema, and Chuck Hoffman.  The guys were all smiles and truly enjoyed the experience.  What a wonderful way to say “thank you” to all veterans for the sacrifices they made for us and for the price they paid for our freedom.

Taken from the Nobles County Democrat from May & June 1900, provided to the Wilmont Shopper by Audrey Brake was this tidbit:  “We hear that the new town on the Burlington to be located on section 1, Lismore Township, is to be called Lismore, in honor of the township of that name.  The town in Vienna Township, Rock County, has been christened Kenneth, in honor of the little son of J. A. Kennicott of Luverne.  Rev. Father Hechenberger informs us that a new Catholic Church will be built at the new town of Lismore this fall.  It is expected that the edifice will cost in the neighborhood of $3,000.”
