IT was their first year at the Commonwealth Bank AgQuip field days, but the team at Agrison had plenty of success, with all machines on display selling during the event.
The Melbourne-based business has been importing farm and construction equipment for the past 12 years and already had more than 300 machines in operation across northern NSW before AgQuip.
Operations manager Sol Ozkaya said about 80 per cent of Agrison’s clients were based in NSW and Queensland.
“This is something that our customers have been asking about for a few years,” he said.
“We’ve undergone a rapid expansion in the past five years, and the increased demand for our products in this area is what brought us to AgQuip.”
The business imports tractors, loaders, dozers, excavators and forklifts, as well as generators and portable buildings.
“We move the most units nationally out of one premises, and at any given time we can have more than 300 units in the yard,” Mr Ozkaya said.
“The secret to our success is starting small with everything we do. We’re now starting to sell excavators, so we’ve got an 800 kilogram excavator, then we’ll move up and sell the bigger units. We noticed that our clients were looking for excavators, so we brought an excavator to the market.”
The business offers a five-year warranty for most of its equipment, another drawcard for the business, Mr Ozkaya said.
“We’re happy to offer that warranty because it shows the confidence we have in our products and gives the customers piece of mind.”
On display at AgQuip were two tractors, two loaders and an excavator, but the team also took orders for another seven machines.
Among the happy buyers were Kevin and Karen Scaife, “Kameruka”, Tea Gardens, who bought a 100 horsepower CDF tractor to be used in their contract slashing business.
“We’ve been looking at these tractors for a while, and what we liked is that they come from an internationally recognised factory, which is really well regarded,” Mr Scaife said.
