A man was being treated Friday morning for what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries after police say he was shot in Garland.
The shooting happened Thursday around 7 p.m.
According to police, the victim, who has not been identified, had gunshot wounds when first responders arrived to the Dexter Road home.
He was then taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center.
Officials spent most of the night processing the crime scene and gathering evidence.
"Penobscot Communications Center received a 911 call... of a female saying please send police, please send help. That phone call was disconnected right after that. At (7:11 p.m.), a 911 call came in reporting the subject had been shot," said William Burch, chief deputy of the Penobscot County Sheriff's Office.
A suspect in connection to the shooting was arrested in Medway.
Abimelec Castanon, also known as Neftali Colon Jr., was arrested without incident and charged with aggravated elevated assault, officials said.
