Dole Food Company said on Friday evening, June 12, an accident occurred on the production floor of Dole’s Soledad, CA salad plant. The accident "tragically took the life of one employee," said William Goldfield, the director of Corporate Communications for Dole Food Company Inc. In a statement Goldfield said, "all of us at Dole are shocked and deeply saddened at the devastating loss of our longtime colleague. Our heartfelt condolences, thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends. We are grieving alongside you."Dole said safety in their products and workplace is their foundation. Dole has launched a full investigation into the incident and are collaborating with local authorities. Operations will be halted Saturday and Sunday. The U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration, OSHA, reports in 2017 a serious accident at the Dole facility in Soledad.
