The Happy Meal is a classic McDonald's staple - but changes are coming.

Next month, carrot bags will no longer be a side option.

From May 4, the carrot bags will be taken off the menu, followed by the bags of grapes in June.

McDonald's, which has restaurants across Birmingham and the Black Country, is keeping tight lipped on what will replace them.

One inquisitive customer asked: "@McDonaldsUK just caught your happy meal ad and noticed carrot bags only there till 4th May and apple and grape bag only till June. What are you putting in their place?"

Replying, the chain didn't give much away: "Hi, thanks for contacting us. Please keep an eye on our website, social media channels or by signing up for our newsletter for any announcements regarding this."

Another change coming in at McDonald's restaurants in June is a ban on 'free hot drink' stickers on cups.

The fast-food chain said the initiative would be replaced by a new digital version this summer.

Customers are currently given the chance to rack up six stickers for a free hot drink of their choice - but in June, that will stop.

Customers will instead collect rewards on the My McDonald’s App.

McDonald’s said: “We’re giving customers three months notice to collect and use the stickers - we’ll communicate more information on the physical stickers nearer the end date.”
