Patrick Warburton has seen the viral Bee Movie memes for his character and has a lot of fun with them. Jerry Seinfeld's 2007 animated comedy centered on Barry B. Benson, a honey bee with the ability to talk to humans who learns how humans exploit bees for their honey while out on a pollen-gathering expedition in New York City. Barry teams up with his newfound florist friend Vanessa Bloome to sue the human race for exploiting bees by selling and consuming their honey.

Jerry Seinfeld led the cast of Bee Movie as Barry alongside Renée Zellweger as Vanessa, Matthew Broderick, John Goodman, Patrick Warburton and Chris Rock. Seinfeld also penned the script for the animated film with Seinfeld vet Spike Feresten, Barry Marder and Andy Robin. Hitting theaters in late 2007, Bee Movie received decidedly mixed reviews from critics, with criticism directed at its plot, lackluster humor and bland animation, but was a modest box office success, grossing over $293 million against its $150 million budget.

While speaking exclusively with Screen Rant to discuss his Days Inn partnership, Patrick Warburton looked back on his time with Jerry Seinfeld's Bee Movie. Warburton expressed "it's always a blast" working with Seinfeld and confirmed he has seen the viral Guy memes, finding them "fun" and that his kids are the ones who show him the memes. See what Warburton shared below:

"Yeah. [Laughs] So my kids will show that to me, because I'm not big on social media. But they will show me these things whenever they pop up. It's fun that it had an impact, it's fun that it landed. It's fun that people laugh and appreciate this guy, Guy, that's very insecure. A bee ruined his life, just ruined it."

Bee Movie Guy

In the years since its underwhelming debut, Bee Movie has gone on to earn a cult following as it became the subject of a variety of memes on social media. The film would even finds its entire script uploaded to Facebook in 2015 while other memes took aim at the film's ridiculous premise, namely Barry and Vanessa's romantic relationship, or the popular video edit playing the entire film, only for it to gradually speed up every time the word "bee" is uttered in the movie. The Guy meme is arguably the most viral of all to come from Bee Movie's recent popularity, being used to highlight a variety of bizarre real-world subjects throughout the years.

With the viral memes throughout the years, Bee Movie is generally considered a guilty pleasure by many alongside the likes of the frequently memed Star Wars prequel trilogy, Nicolas Cage's Wicker Man remake and Jared Leto's Morbius, which recently took the No. 1 spot on VOD charts after Sony attempted to capitalize on the viral trend with a failed theatrical re-release. Despite the film's delayed popularity, Seinfeld has come out debunking thoughts about a possible Bee Movie sequel, expressing concerns of making the first film feel "a little less iconic" by making a follow-up. Audiences can revisit the original Bee Movie streaming on HBO Max now.
