'This season is a cracker!' he told TV Week.

'Every year the marketing department yells "THIS IS THE BEST SEASON EVER!!!" But I don't think it's hyperbole this time. It certainly felt that way while filming.'

He added: 'The challenges are a little more balanced this time with less emphasis on sheer strength and more opportunity for players' skills to shine.'

The actor also said the mix of veteran castaways with new contestants is what makes Heroes vs. Villains more interesting, with challenges often becoming 'nail-bitingly close'.
