UKRAINE will be gutted that it is Wales, rather than themselves, who are facing England in the final Group B game of the FIFA World Cup tomorrow night.

They lost 1-0 in the play-off final against Gareth Bale and co earlier this year, and have had to watch proceedings in Qatar this winter from afar.

But as the war-torn country attempts to get back on its feet after a horrendous year, they are set to receive help from a rather unlikely source.

Newly-promoted Betfred Championship side Keighley Cougars released their playing kits for the 2023 season last week, and both the home and away jerseys will carry the flag of Ukraine to show our support in their ongoing conflict against Russia.

Not only that, but with a certain percentage of the club's shirt sales going towards charity, it is charities that support Ukraine where that will go next season.

The club will make a donation from each shirt sale to charities that are helping those flee the war in Ukraine and in addition this, the club is setting up a fund to support local groups who work to bring communities and people together in Keighley.

This fund will be launched immediately and open to applications for funding from those within the town from the spring of next year.

In a time of uncertainty, trouble, and division, across the world, Cougars have said in a club statement that their 2023 jerseys will promote the hope for a better world.

The club’s theme for this season as a result is peace, love and unity.

To show this commitment, the 2023 playing jerseys will once more carry the progress flag, alongside the Ukraine one, to promote LGBTQ+ and equality, and also the boot, which shows the club's commitment to kicking all forms of racism out of professional sport.

The club have extended their thanks to their 2023 kit sponsors, who are: Bedspredz Poultry, A1 Lift & Mobility Group, Clever Energy Boilers, Airedale Shopping Centre, Timothy Taylor’s, Ultimate Commercial Interiors, Moochies, and John Green Health & Safety.
