McDonald's has revived some of its cult-fave items as part of a major menu shakeup - including a scrumptious twist on the Big Mac.

The fast-food chain launched its spring menu nationwide today (April 17) as gutted fans said farewell to the iconic Halloumi Fries and Cadbury Creme Egg McFlurry once again. But, it's not all doom and gloom, as McDonald's is bringing back the legendary Chicken Big Mac.

Priced at £4.69, the triple-layered burger features two chicken breast patties in a crispy coating, cheese, lettuce, pickles, and (of course) Big Mac Sauce. It can be be purchased on its own or as part of a meal. The Mirror's Danielle Kate Wroe got her hands on the burger and said it certainly 'didn't disappoint'.

But, that's not the only thing launching in stores today.

The new menu launched today

A new Quarter Pounder Deluxe (£4.89) is gracing the menu - consisting of a 100 per cent beef patty with mustard, ketchup, onion, lettuce, mayo, tomato, pickles and cheese. Customers will also be able to try the new Cheese and Herb Melts (£2.89) - the delicious sides are a blend of mozzarella and Emmental and are served with a 'rich tomato dip'.

If you've got a sweet tooth - there's plenty for you to tuck into. Both the Biscoff and Galaxy McFlurry (£1.99) are making a triumphant return, alongside a new Biscoff Frappe Priced at £2.99, the vanilla-flavoured drink is blended with ice and Biscoff crumb, then topped with caramel-flavoured cream and a Biscoff crumb dusting. McDonald's dubbed the beverage an 'ideal treat' for spring, and it's easy to see why.

But perhaps the most anticipated discontinued product returning today is the famous Galaxy Caramel Pie - made up of a chocolate crust stuffed with Galaxy caramel sauce. The chocolatey dessert, priced at £1.99, was a firm favourite when it was released last year. In fact, it won the top spot in our own taste test - and was hailed by Brits across social media.

When it was axed just weeks into 2024, chaos erupted, with fans begging for it to be made a permanent offering. "I think I might cry when McDonald's stops the Galaxy Caramel Pies," one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

Another devasted customer said: "I cannot put into words how much I'm going to miss the Galaxy Caramel Pie when McDonald's takes them off the menu. C'mon lads, we can just keep them…" While a third added: "Would absolutely buy McDonald's stock of the Galaxy Caramel Pies just so I can eat them forever. The BEST thing ever!"
