With thousands of products on shelves and available online, Walmart serves millions of Americans. It’s the nation’s largest retailer. When a recall affects one of its products, there can be widespread effects.
Ninety percent of the U.S. population lives within 10 miles of a Walmart store.
Labeling mistakes, safety concerns and contamination can all cause recalls on food prescriptions and other products sold in stores and online.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission issued safety warnings for play yard mattresses, high chairs and baby loungers sold at Walmart.com. A tall dresser was also flagged as unsafe. Find details by clicking the links under “product recalls.”
“Walmart and Sam’s Club are committed to the health and safety of our customers and members and to providing products that are safe and compliant, all supported by our health and wellness, product safety, and food safety professionals,” the company said in a statement. “In the event of a product recall, we work swiftly to block the item from being sold and remove it from our stores and clubs.”

Food recalls
Genova®, Van Camp’s®, H-E-B and Trader Joe’s brand canned tuna – Recalled due to food poisoning risk from manufacturing defect that may compromise the product seal. The products were sold at Walmart under the Genova and Van Camp’s labels in Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi, North Carolina, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Ohio, Oregon, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas and Washington.
Louisiana Oysters – Recalled after 191 confirmed cases of norovirus. The products were sold in Louisiana and Mississippi.
