Poland sees 9% rise in winter apple prices, stability in France, Germany, and Italy

Apple prices across Germany, France, Italy, and Poland continue to reflect varied market dynamics during the 2024/2025 season.

In France, apple prices have gradually declined from the start of the 2024/2025 season but have shown slight stability through the winter months. December prices were recorded at €134/100 kg, followed by a slight dip in January to €133 and then a return to €134 in February. While these values are below the high prices of early autumn, they remain slightly under the 2023/24 levels but still well above the five-year average. The market appears stable, though prices have softened compared to the strong start of the season.

Italy's apple market has remained relatively steady with consistently high prices throughout the season. In December and January, prices held firm at €98/100 kg, dropping only slightly to €97 in February. These levels are comparable to those in the same months of the 2023/24 season and continue to remain significantly higher than the five-year average, suggesting strong domestic and export demand, and possibly lower supply pressures.

Poland presents a different trend, with winter prices showing a gradual upward trajectory. December prices were at €65/100 kg, rising to €69 in January and reaching €71 in February, marking the highest seasonal levels since the start of the marketing year. This is notably stronger than both the previous season and the long-term average, signaling improved market conditions or reduced supply pressure in Poland's apple sector.

In Germany, prices have shown moderate fluctuation. After a slight dip in January to €82/100 kg, prices rose again in February to €84/100 kg. This still remains above the previous season and five-year average, despite a general slowdown in demand. Compared to February 2023/24, when prices stood at €80/100 kg, the current season reflects a more robust market situation.
