Iceland, Tesco and Waitrose warn shoppers 'do not eat' these products
You will receive a full refund when the product is returned to store
Supermarket giants Iceland, Tesco and Waitrose are among a number of retailers warning shoppers not to eat certain products they have sold. Products are recalled from stores for several reasons.
The FSA provides advice on what actions customers should take if they have any of the affected products along with detailed explanations for the product's withdrawn from sale.
This week, items have been recalled from shelves for reasons including risks of plastic contamination, possible insect infestation and an incorrect best before date. Customers who have purchased the affected items should return the product to store for a full refund.
The FSA issues Product Recall Information Notices to let consumers and local authorities know about problems associated with food. In some cases, a 'Food Alert for Action' is issued. This provides local authorities with details of specific action to be taken on behalf of consumers.
