Every week there seems to be a new, big recall that causes an urgent need to check our pantries (or even our garages).

Many recalls come as a result of product mislabeling, safety issues, or contamination.

Here are seven recalls in particular that you as a consumer need to know about that have happened or have been updated in the past week (March 16 to 23). This week’s recall list includes dessert sold at Target, laundry detergent sold exclusively at Amazon, and over 90,000 GM cars and SUVs.

Thousands of Stouffer’s, Lean Cuisine frozen meals recalled

Nestlé USA is recalling thousands of Lean Cuisine and Stouffer’s frozen meals due to the presence of foreign objects.

The frozen meals are being pulled from store shelves after consumers contacted Nestle saying they found wood-like material in the products.

Trader Joe’s recalling 61K sparkling water bottles due to safety hazard

Trader Joe’s is recalling 61,500 units of a sparkling water brand due to a safety hazard.

Glass bottles of Gerolsteiner Sparkling Water, sold across 12 states, are being recalled because the bottles may crack, causing a laceration hazard, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The recall, which was discovered during production after noticing bottle breakage, covers 750 milliliter Gerolsteiner Sparkling Water bottles sold individually or in cases of 15.

The bottles contain a red, white, and blue label with “Gerolsteiner” on the front of the bottle. Read more of the details of this recall in our article.

GM recalling 90K Cadillacs and Chevrolet Camaros

General Motors is recalling about 90,000 Cadillacs and Chevrolet Camaros due to a problem with the transmission.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, 90,081 2019-2020 Cadillac CT6, 2020-2021 CT4, CT5, and 2020-2022 Chevrolet Camaro vehicles equipped with a 10-speed transmission are being recalled due to a faulty transmission control valve.

The valve can be susceptible to wear and tear over time, and older valves can cause harsh shifting or cause the wheels to lock up.

Owners will be notified about the recall by April 21. See the full recall details in our article.

60K bags of potato chips recalled

On March 19, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) updated an existing recall that was initially issued on February 27. The recall is for 60,100 bags of Coyote Valley Sour Cream & Onion Chips, due to the product containing a “higher sodium amount” than stated on the nutrition label.

The impacted chips were sold in three states: Ohio, Nevada, and Texas. The impacted Coyote Valley Sour Cream & Onion Chips are:

  • Lot Codes and Expiration Dates:
    • 241223, 241230, 250113, 250224 241223 (Expiration Date: 10/23/25)

Woolite Delicates Detergent Recalled by Reckitt Due to Risk of Exposure to Bacteria

On March 20, Woolite announced a voluntary recall initiated by Reckitt due to bacteria exposure.

According to the recall listing, “the recalled products can contain Pseudomonas species bacteria, including Pseudomonas oleovorans, an environmental organism found widely in soil and water. “

This bacteria is dangerous for people with weakened immune systems or external medical devices. It is stated that people with healthy immune systems are usually not affected by the bacteria.

This Woolite product is sold exclusively on Amazon. The impacted lot numbers are

  • S24364
  • S24365
  • S24366

This only includes the 50 fluid-ounce bottles of Woolite Delicates detergent, currently 16,200 bottles have been recalled. No incidents or injuries have been reported at this time.

Target dessert recalled due to undeclared allergen

Dessert Holdings LLC issued a recall on March 20 on a popular Target brand. Favorite Day™ Gourmet New York Style Cheesecake has been recalled due to undeclared allergens.

The recall is on the 6oz/2ct package of this cheesecake and the impacted units have the lot code Lot code 25028A1 000039133 UPC 0 85239 09690 1. The impacted products were distributed between 2/14/2025 and 3/7/2025 to Target Distribution Centers located in CA, FL, IA, OH, and TX.

The recall is due to the fact that the product label does not declare pecans. Dessert Holdings LLC received a complaint on March 14 that a consumer had found pecans in their product, despite the product label not declaring pecans in the packaging.

ShopRite in NJ voluntarily recalls store-made meat

In a press release via email, ShopRite announced that on March 21, 2025, the ShopRite of Laurel Hill (located at 1224 Blackwood-Clementon Rd. in Clementon, NJ), has initiated a voluntary recall of all store-made ground beef, pork, and meatloaf mix produced and sold at the store on March 20.

ShopRite Spokesperson Maureen Gillespie said in a statement, “We are advising customers who purchased any of the recalled items at the ShopRite of Laurel Hill to return them for an immediate refund or replacement.”

ShopRite will also reach out to Price Plus® club card customers who purchased the products to alert them to the recall. The recall is due to the possibility that the ground meat might contain small plastic fragments due to a problem with the grinder.

The products being recalled include all store-made packages of:

  • 80 and 85 percent lean ground beef
  • Angus ground beef, including family and small packs
  • Ground beef and pork
  • Ground pork and meatloaf mix

All of the recalled packages have a sell-by date of March 20. No injuries or incidents have been reported at this time. Read more about the ShopRite recall in our article.
