Putnam County Ag Day thanks all involved
“Together We Grow” was the theme celebrated at the 2025 Putnam County Ag Day event held on Saturday, March 8, where families came together to learn about a farmer’s everyday life.
Ag Day kicked off its festivities with an Ag Day breakfast followed by a short program by Duane Huge, Lifetime Achievement for Ag Educators.
Awards were also presented for Friend of the Farmer, Farmer of the Year and Putnam County Farm Bureau’s Ag Production In Putnam County Photo Contest.
Immediately following the program was the Mini Farm Fest where families participated in hands-on activities and had the opportunity to interact with farm animals, sample milk and popcorn, view farm equipment, view a movie in the barn theater and much more.
Our goal of reaching out to educate the community of Putnam County about the importance of agriculture could not have been achieved without the support of our many sponsors and exhibitors, including: Putnam County Farm Bureau Inc, Putnam County Community Foundation, Farm Credit Mid-America, First Financial Bank, First National Bank, Hoosier Heartland State Bank, North Salem State Bank, Tri County Bank, Almost Home, Burger King, McDonald’s, Putnam Inn and Subway.
Also, Putnam County Master Gardeners, North Putnam FFA, South Putnam FFA, Cloverdale FFA, Greencastle FFA, Keystone Cooperative, Putnam County Purdue Extension, Putnam County SWCD, AHW Rockville John Deere, Humphrey’s Outdoor Equipment, Bane Welker Equipment, Indiana Soybean Alliance, Putnam County Antique Tractor & Machinery Association, Putnam County Sheriff Department, Putnam County Beekeepers, Putnam County 4-H Llama & Alpaca Club, Purdue Club of Putnam County, Noah Poynter Media, Poynter Aerial Ag, 2024 Miss Putnam County Abby Shoffner, Hacker’s Boer Goats, Minor Family Sheep, Lillian Pate Rabbits, Putnam County 4-H Poultry Club, Nathan Snyder ABS Global, Indiana Farm Bureau, Putnam County Rural Preservation Society, Putnam County Museum and John Hays Understanding Ag.
Thanks also to Rick Johnston for leading the event in devotion and prayer and special thanks to fellow Ag Day committee members Ken Carrington, Jenna Nees and Steve and Patti Cash.
Many thanks to the Banner Graphic for the timely press coverage of the event.
