"Seasonal surge: Asparagus, agretti, broad beans and peas hit the market"

"Spring is in the air at Fellini Patrizio—despite the weather. The main seasonal crops are now being harvested, and sales are underway. Sales manager Andrea Pignato shares an update on the progress of agretti, asparagus, broad beans, and peas."

"The weather hasn't been ideal in recent weeks, with low temperatures and persistent rain delaying planting. Still, we've begun harvesting greenhouse-grown agretti. This year, they're being trimmed by hand directly in the field to avoid including the roots. Demand is strong, and prices are holding steady."

"Another key seasonal product is asparagus. Right now, it's coming from our partners in Puglia. We offer asparagus in three size categories: small, medium, and large. The market is very receptive due to limited supply, and there's strong demand for high-quality asparagus. As a result, producers are seeing good prices."

"Asparagus can be packaged in various formats, and Fellini sells it either under its own Freschissimi brand or under the private labels of major retail chains. We're very selective in sourcing the best-quality crops, thanks to our member growers who strictly follow our quality standards."

"The peak season for broad beans and peas is also approaching. We've started selling produce grown in both greenhouses and open fields in Campania, and the market responded immediately with strong activity. Demand is increasing, and prices are encouraging."

"However, the rain has slowed planting, and the recent frost has caused losses in newly planted crops. Where possible, we protected them with crop covers, but that wasn't always feasible. I believe the market could face shortages in April—especially for lettuce—as the southern harvests come to an end and northern production is just starting."
