An event exploring the future of forestry is coming to Newcastle.
The Northern Forestry Conference will be held at the Discovery Museum on Thursday, May 15.
The event, organised by Northwoods, aims to explore the contribution forests and timber make to the north, and the opportunities that growing all parts of the sector can bring to the economy, and to meet Net Zero targets.
The event will feature discussions and debates, with input from high-profile figures representing a host of industries and sectors impacted by forestry.
Neil Harrison, director of Reheat, the company which hosts and manages Northwoods, said: "With huge investment in timber processing capacity, the rise of exciting and diverse new markets, and the success of local tree planting programmes, the conference arrives at a pivotal moment for the sector.
"Attendees can expect a packed programme of expert speakers, panel discussions, and networking opportunities designed to inform, inspire, and spark collaboration across the industry."
The Northern Forestry Conference is set to take place on Thursday, May 15, from 9am to 5pm at the Discovery Museum in Newcastle.
There will also be an after-event dinner.
