NEW LONDON, Wis. (WBAY) - Protesters gathered in New London near Tyson Foods in response to President Trump’s immigration policy.

President Trump’s executive order will revoke the temporary legal status of 530,000 people in the U.S. It goes into effect on April 24.

Forward New London, which is an advocacy group, says revocations for these workers will disrupt their families. The rally Wednesday morning aimed to show solidarity and support for affected employees and their families.

The Department of Homeland Security said the migrants the order impacts were allowed in the U.S. under President Biden’s CHNV program, which it says was loosely vetted and undercuts American workers.
