Delaware County residents can hop into Easter mode with egg hunts and more

Easter crafts and breakfast with the Easter Bunny are just a few of the fun family-friendly upcoming events

Brookhaven

• Brookhaven will conduct its annual Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19 behind the community center. Photos with the Easter Bunny will be available in the gym at Brookhaven Borough Hall, 2 Cambridge Road.  For more information, visit Brookhavenboro.com/.

Chester Township

• Grace Bell, state Sen. John Kane and Leave Your Mark Political Action Committee will host an Easter Egg Hunt in Toby Farms, at noon Sunday, April 19 at Worrilow Park in the rear of 1300 Powell Road. Children are invited to hunt for golden eggs to win prizes.

Concord Township

• Covenant Fellowship Church, 1 Fellowship Drive, Glen Mills, will host its annual Easter Egg Hunt and Magic Show on Saturday, April 19 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. The community egg hunt and magic show are free and held rain or shine. The hunt is geared for children 9 and under, who are welcome to bring bags or baskets to hunt eggs. The child who finds the golden egg will receive a special prize. Edgmont Township

• Colonial Pennsylvania Farmstead in Ridley Creek State Park, 3900 N. Sandy Flash Drive, Edgmont Township, will celebrate the spring season with an egg hunt at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, April 19. Children, ages 2 to 12 are invited to search the fields and collect eggs filled with surprises. Kids are encouraged to bring an egg carton for their collecting, and decorate it in festive colors and designs. Children can also enjoy hands-on farm activities and watch shows from Levram the Great at 11:30 a.m., and 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. Admission to the farm for adults, seniors and children over the age of 2 is $14. Member tickets are $12. The last admission to the farmstead will be 3 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door, but pre-registration is strongly encouraged to expedite the check in process. Glenolden

• Harry’s Hands to Help and Heal will hold its fifth annual Easter Egg-stravaganza on Saturday, April 19 from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Glenolden, 2 South Chester Pike, Glenolden. Kids can meet and get a free photo with Harry the Bunny, get a complimentary face painting by Mimi, and enjoy an egg hunt, divided into age groups, at 3:30. Every child will receive a free raffle ticket for a chance to win a prize. Other raffle tickets will be available for purchase for a chance to win one of many adults and kids raffle baskets. Haverford Township

• The Havertown United Methodist Church, 200 Brookline Blvd., Havertown, will hold its annual Easter Egg Hunt from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 19. Lansdowne

•  The Lansdowne Parks and Recreation Department will host a spring field day, noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 19 in Hoffman Park, 34 Scottdale Road, Lansdowne. Event highlights include an Easter Egg Hunt, games and crafts, snacks and beverages. This event was postponed due to inclement weather.

Marcus Hook

• Captain Hook’s Playroom, 922 Market St., Marcus Hook, will present an Easter Extravaganza on Friday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to noon. The event will feature Easter Bunny photos, Easter snack boxes, an Easter craft and a live petting zoo featuring lambs, chicks, ducklings and bunnies. Cost is $25. Book only for first child online. Media

•  Media Recreation invites children to an EGG-citing Hunt at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 19 on the lawn area adjacent to the Community Center, 301 N. Jackson St., Media. The hunt is open to kids, up to fifth grade. The hunt for ages 0-3 will be held in the Tot Lot and flags will mark the locations for ages 4-7 and ages 8 and up. The event will also have Peat Pot Art and seedling station, a bunny photo station, and a treat station with soft pretzels and munchkins.

Middletown Township

• People of all ages are invited to hop on over to Bunny Land at Linvilla Orchards for a fun hayride to the Easter Bunny’s house. Visitors can grab their cameras to snap pics of the Easter Bunny hanging out with the hay wagon crew. A story and a sweet treat will be waiting for hayride participants. After the ride, visitors can swing by the Garden Center for Easter plants and accessories, or head to the Farm Market for goodies and homemade chocolate treats. The market is open every day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The hayrides will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. through April 19. Linvilla will be closed on Easter Sunday, April 20. Nether Providence Township

• The St. John Chrysostom Ministry for Persons with Disabilities at St. John Chrysostom Church, 617 S. Providence Road, Wallingford, will hold its annual Sensory-Friendly and Adaptive Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19. Children can enjoy snacks, crafts, a friendly “hunt” and the playground, then snap some photos with the Easter Bunny who left all the eggs. This sensory-friendly event is for individuals with disabilities in the community who need a more relaxed pace. Siblings are welcome. Prospect Park

• Risen Hope Church, 1001 Washington Ave., Prospect Park invites the community for a joyous Easter celebration on Sunday, April 20 at 10 a.m., followed by an Easter Egg Hunt for children, ages 2 to 9. at 11:45 a.m. The family-friendly event is an opportunity for fellowship and fun. Ridley Park

• The Recreation Board of Ridley Park and neighbors of the 1st Precinct will revive the 50 year old tradition of the Egg Hunt in Bonnes Park, 540 E. Hinckley Ave., Ridley Park on Saturday, April 19. Kids can line up on the paved path at 10 a.m., and have staggered start times and dedicated areas of the park for hunting, based on children’s ages: ages 0-3 at 10 a.m. in the front section of the park; ages 4-6 at 10:15 a.m. in the midsection of the park; and ages 7-10 at 10:30 a.m. in the back of the park. The Easter Bunny will be available to take photos throughout the event. The Easter Egg Hunt is BYOB (Bring Your Own Basket). Families are encouraged to walk, as parking is limited in the area. This event is shine only and will not be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. All activities in the park should be wrapped up before noon.

Springfield Township

• Springfield Country Club, 400 W. Sproul Road, Springfield, will hold Breakfast with the Easter Bunny on Easter Sunday morning, April 20 in the Grand Ballroom. Two seatings are available: 9 and 11:30 a.m. The brunch menu will feature pastries, fruit, yogurt, eggs, chicken and waffles, pancakes, bacon, sausage, home fries, toast, bagels, fruit juices, coffee, tea and more. The Easter Bunny will be on site until 1 p.m. for photo opportunities and meet-and-greets. Cost for the breakfast is $26.95, with free admission for children under 3. Upland

•  The Annual Easter Egg Hunt for Upland children will start at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 19 at Bristol Lord Field, Sixth and Main streets, Upland. Upper Chichester Township

•  Upper Chichester Township will hold its Egg-citing Easter Celebration at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19 at Furey Road Fields, 8500 Furey Road, Upper Chichester. The event will include photos with the Easter Bunny, Easter Egg Hunts for children 13 and under, bounce houses, a special kite event, live music and games and more. The event is sponsored by Chi United Church and Restoration Presbyterian Church.

Upper Darby Township

• Incarnation Holy Sacrament Episcopal Church invites families and children of all ages to join in the Easter celebration at its annual Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, April 20. The festivities will take place immediately following the 10 a.m. Easter Sunday service at the church, 3000 Garrett Road, Drexel Hill. The event will include festive Easter decorations with plenty of photo opportunities, coffee and refreshments. Families are encouraged to bring their baskets and invite friends to join in the fun.
