Strong Interest at SSF-800 Demonstration in Tranas, Sweden

Nice to see such big interest for the demonstration of our hashtag#Weda SSF-800 at our client Tranås Water works in Sweden. Representatives from the Water works in Tranås, Uppsala, Linköping, Jönköping, Varberg and Falkenberg took part in the demonstration.

This new cleaner, SSF-800 is specifically designed for cleaning (skimming) of the surfaces in SSF – Slow Sand Filters and is a part of Wedas series of cleaners for drinking water applications.

The SSF-800 has been developed in cooperation with water works in different parts of Europe. The demands differ but the basic idea remains the same. Some benefits with the SSF-800 are:

• The sand filter does not have to be drained – saves time since the skimming can start immediately
• The biological cleaning effect is not disturbed – the filter can be used very quickly after skimming
• If needed the skimming can be done without taking the filter off-duty
• Allows for more skimming during the year due to the simplicity compared with alternative methods
• All oils and greases used in the SSF-800 are food approved. The skimming creates no risk of damaging the filters with hydraulic oils etc. as with alternative methods with tractors in the filter
