Jeremy Clarkson has come under fire after charging customers £85 for a new menu at his pub, The Farmer’s Dog.

The former Top Gear presenter has advertised a special event, ‘Dare Night’, at the Cotswold-based pub.

The event is being filmed as part of Clarkson’s Amazon Prime show, Clarkson’s Farm, and has been described as not an event “for the faddy or those of a vegan disposition.”

Items on the menu are being created from “all the things that people normally discard”, as the Farmer’s Dog warns,“you might hate half of it.”

Hinting at what the Farmer’s Dog will be serving, the even description shares: “From the unconventional like veal sweetbreads, roasted bone marrow and stuffed lamb’s hearts to the down-right outrageous like crispy squirrel, snail caviar and pan-fried brain, this menu is certain to both challenge and delight.”

Despite ‘Dare Night’ offering a unique menu that is likely to create some outrage, it was the pub's Instagram post that left some people upset.

Advertising the event, the Farmer’s Dog used AI-generated photos to show examples of what menu items might look like.

The post included a brain on a plate, a ‘cooked’ squirrel and a pie with bunny ears pointing out, leaving some people disgusted.

Taking to the comments, one Instagram user wrote: “instant unfollow” as a second said: “Is that how you really love animals Mr Clarkson?”

Another person said, “Is that roadkill you have found at the side of the road and not mowed down?”

A fourth Instagram user reacting to the pub's post said: “Disgusting I got this as a suggested post, vile.”

Clarkson has become a vocal supporter for farmers, attending a protest in London against the Government’s announcement to introduce an inheritance tax on farmers.

The Prime series will also see Clarkson running the farm independently, with a range of livestock to manage, including a big new bull to a very little pig, to high-tech goats.

Along with manning the farm, Clarkson’s venture to become a pub landlord will come with a number of obstacles, including derelict buildings, red tape and a picnic site with a colourful past.
