National Road 71c Inaugurated, Enhancing Connectivity in Cambodia

 

In a significant milestone for infrastructure development, Prime Minister Hun Manet officially inaugurated the 114.62-kilometre-long National Road 71c today. This vital road stretches from National Road 7 in Tbong Khmum province to National Road 71 in Kampong Cham province, marking a key improvement in the country’s transportation network.

According to a post on the Ministry of Public Works and Transport’s official Facebook page, the completion of National Road 71c promises to enhance connectivity for residents, facilitate trade, and boost tourism in the region. This new route will serve as a lifeline for communities in Tbong Khmum, Kampong Cham, and neighbouring provinces, streamlining the movement of people and goods, especially agricultural products.

The project officially began on 23 November 2021, with significant funding from the People’s Republic of China, contributing approximately USD 129.98 million, alongside support from the Royal Government of Cambodia. Remarkably, the construction was completed on 14 July 2024. (Read more and more)

With its inauguration, National Road 71c is expected to considerably reduce travel time and costs, fostering economic growth and improving the quality of life for the residents along its route.
