Andrew Bischof,82, Minot, died Thursday at his home.

Andrew “Andy” Bischof was born on December 25, 1942, a son of George and Margarete (Schatz) in Kandel, Russia. He was raised in Germany until 1952, when the family moved to Karlsruhe, ND. He attended school in Karlsruhe, where he graduated from High School.

Andy met the love of his life Mary Louise Lenertz, who he then married on January 25, 1964 in Karlsruhe. They made their home in Karlsruhe, where Andy began working in the construction business, working for Feist Construction until 1967 when the family moved to Minot. He then went to work for Craft Builders, where he worked very proudly, passionately and was detail oriented. He retired from Craft Builders in 2005.

He enjoyed spending time at the family lake cabin at Van Hook, fishing, mowing with his John Deere tractor, gardening, carpentry and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Andy was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot, and a former member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Karlsruhe. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Minot.

Wife of 61 years, Mary Bischof.

Children: Rick (Jackie) Bischof, Bismarck, Roxanne (Dale) Reiter, Minot, Rebecca Bischof Briggs, Minot; six grandchildren: Makhial (Baelee) Reiter, Bekka (Aaron) Oswill, Levi (Caitlin) Bischof, Alec Bischof, Dylan Briggs, Keely Briggs; seven great-grandchildren: Kostin, Kollins and Hattie Reiter, Braxytn, Braelyn and Brittyn Oswill, Daniel Briggs; Brothers: Victor (Rose) Bischof, Mike (Linda) Bischof, George (Carolyn) Bischof Jr., David (Carolyn) Bischof;

Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents George Sr. and Margaret Bischof, brother Victor Bischof, grandson Daniel A. Briggs, father and mother-in-law Al and Joan Lenertz, brothers-in-law Elgy, Sidney and Timothy Lenertz.

Visitation: Tuesday. April 15, 2025 from 4 until 6 pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Vigil Prayer Service: Tuesday, April 15, 2025 at 6 pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.

Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed and may be viewed on Andy’s web page at www.thompsonlarson.com

Burial: Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
