President wants close relations with United Arab Emirates

ANGOLA, October 12 - For this purpose, the head of State held a meeting in Abu Dhabi with Sheikh Hamdan Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince.

João Lourenço made a technical stop over in Abu Dhabi on the mission that recently took him to China, where he held a state visit from 9 to 10 October.

Angola and the United Arab Emirates are members of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and initialed in June 2015 two agreements, one of economic and technical cooperation and the other on the creation of the Joint Commission between States.

The countries cooperate in the areas of oil, gas, agriculture, among others.

During his official visit to China, Angolan President João Lourenço held high-level contacts with political authorities and Chinese businessmen, which culminated in the signing of various cooperation agreements.
